Class Info

Tidewater Fencing Club offers beginner fencing classes starting at the beginning of each month, holidays permitting. New monthly activity begins on the first Monday of each month, with the beginner classes starting on the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday after that. TFC also offers instruction and open fencing for experienced fencers. A more detailed calendar is available on our Schedule page, and the details of our classes and member activities are shown below. All students and club members must have an active USFA membership for insurance purposes. All fees must be paid in cash or check, made payable to Tidewater Fencing Club.

USFA Membership (Required)

Non-competitive: $10 per person, per year
Competitive: $75 per person, per year

All participants at TFC practices (club members, beginner class students, or guest fencers) are required to be members of the United States Fencing Association. The membership is required for insurance purposes and is valid for a year beginning in August. The Competitive membership is only necessary to compete in official USFA tournaments. The membership form can be filled out online or downloaded from the USFA website, or you can fill out a copy at practice and have the club send it to the USFA.
